Wen Tianren[Novel] was a disciple and sole descendant of Archsaint Six Paths as stated by the star alliance enforcers Cang Yunlong and brother Liu in chapter 502 and 503. His first appearance was in person via donghua while in the novel only a conversation were held about him by the two enforcers.

Wen Tianren was famed as the strongest Core Formation cultivator in the Scattered Star Seas. It was stated that apart from the old monsters at the Nascent Soul stage such as Zenith Yin, Qing Yi and a few others, the average nascent soul was no match for his fearsome power and would show him utmost respect.

Personality

Wen Tianren[Novel]- appeared gentle and refined, but he wasn’t magnanimous. Rather, he was a cunning, sinister, fickle and temperamental man that would kill others at a whim in a display of overwhelming power. He was incredibly proud of having his spiritual sense match that of a Nascent Soul eccentric and couldn’t accept a similar grade cultivator with abilities superior to his.

Wen Tianren[Donghua]- he also appeared gentle and refined and also exude traits of being cunning, sinister and a temperamental man that would kill others at a whim in a display of overwhelming power. He also shows sign of being smart, knowledgeable and well verse in military matters. Due to his need for revenge he seem to put most of his effort into his cultivation practices as shown and praise by Han Li for being formidable and learning so many powerful techniques that is normally rather difficult or impossible for most at their current level, such as the Cataclysmic Graft, Heavenly Sun Golden Needles/Sword/Spear and Golden Mirrors of Eight Gates- feats usually reserved for early to mid-Nascent Soul experts—while still only in the Core Formation stage.

First Meeting

As Wen Tianren was traveling in the flying chariot with Wang Ning, he noticed a heavenly omen over one of the islands. He recognized it as use of Soulrise Technique and wanted to meet Core Formation cultivator responsible for that. After rejecting an offer of joining Divine Dove Hall and not recognizing Wang Ning, Han Li, under Appearance Exchange Art, fought Wen Tianren. Young Master had to sacrifice left arm, when Han Li used Yin Devil Execution, but he soon recovered it. Then he was in disbelief as his opponent easily destroyed six Apex Devil phantoms. Despite using the Golden Mirrors of Eight Gates and Divine Golden Flames, they battled for a day and night without clear outcome. After all of them were caught in the ghost mist, they were teleported into the Umbra Realm.

Along with his concubines, Wen Tianren was traveling across the Inner Star Seas in a chariot. Coincidentally he was nearby a heavenly omen disturbance that signaled either incoming fortunes or an incoming disaster. In investigating the omen, he discovered that the omen contained large concentrations of Yin Energy allowing him to deduce the use of the Soulrise Technique which signaled incoming peril.

Other Core Formation cultivators were unable to sense the difference resulting in conflict between a Late-Core Formation cultivator defending the island. Wen Tianren attempted to stealthily observe the situation using his spiritual sense. However, he was instead shocked to learn that the Late-Core Formation cultivator detected him. Having let his pride and ego go to his head, Wen Tianren was eager to fight this Late-Core Formation cultivator to prove that he was the strongest Core Formation cultivator within the Inner Star Seas. In confronting this Late-Core Formation cultivator he met Han Li for the first time.

Wen Tianren engaged in battle with Han Li. Contrary to Wen Tianren’s expectations, Han Li managed to force a stalemate resulting in a battle of attrition that spanned several days. In this battle of attrition, Wen Tianren was losing. Wen Tianren received numerous shocks during the battle. He discovered that his opponent had some close relationship with a renown devil Qing Yi because his opponent possessed Qing Yi’s renown Nightazure Needles. In an escalating battle, Wen Tianren was forced to sacrifice his arm using his Cataclysmic Graft technique to defend against his opponents Yin Devil Execution technique. While he had narrowly avoided the attack, the use of the Cataclysmic Graft took a toll on his energy reserves. Screenshot 2024-09-21 163437 Sensing a possibility for defeat, Wen Tianren escalated by using his Six Apex Devils. Overconfident, he was given a surprise when his devils were effortlessly eliminated by Divine Devilbane Lightning from his opponent. Realizing that he was badly matched given that his devilish techniques were easily countered by the lightning, Wen Tianren resorted to using a replica of the original Golden Mirrors of Eight Gates that had once eliminated one generation of Heavenly Star Sages via Heavenly Mirror Cultivator. Unfortunately for Wen Tianren his opponent countered the divine flame attack unleashed by the replica of the mirror. This stalemate resulted in a war of attrition that lasted for several days. Unlike his opponent, he could not regenerate his expended Spiritual Energy. As a result, Wen Tianren was on the losing side of this war.

Sensing his imminent loss, he requested external assistance from his concubines. Unfortunately, the battle was interrupted with the appearance of the Ghost Mist triggered by the Soulrise Technique. Wen Tianren was caught in the mist and pulled into the Umbra Realm.

Umbra Realm

While trapped in the Umbra Realm, Wen Tianren was unable to draw upon his Spiritual Energy to use magical techniques. Fortunately, as a cultivator he tempered his body making him stronger than mortals in the realm. He managed to find and save his most favored concubine. Together, they found the method to escaping the realm and began climbing the Stormwind Mountain towards the exit. Along the way Wen Tianren unexpected encountered Han Li. Unprepared, Wen Tianren attempted to flee after a minor skirmish told him that his opponent possessed vastly superior physical prowess. Unfortunately, in an attempt to flee Wen Tianren was killed by a dagger to the back of his neck.

In the Donghua during the final show down with Han Li it is shown that Wen Tianren was not related to Archsaint Six Paths by blood, after Sixpath exterminated his clan it is hinted from the dialoged that Sixpath had a hatred towards Wen Tianren Clan, perhaps they wrong him when he was younger? or just needed souls to strengthen his Three Divine Souls Banner, in any case after Wen Tianren crawled from the pile of corpse, Sixpath notice he had a unique Physique compatible to his own or rather for cultivating devil art’s, Wen Tianren was taken in as his disciple and trained so that one day he could help aid Sixpath cultivation after reaching the nascent soul, this is part of the reason why Wen Tianren kept on hesitating in regard to entering the nascent soul stage he wanted revenge and was against the idea of aiding sixpath.

Wen Tianren goal is to one day take revenge for his clan against Sixpath as such he trained and studies diligently, always searching for opportunities such as the Devil Qi in the under sea ruin’s which would catapult his cultivation to the Late Nascent Soul or perhaps even Deity Realm.

Extremely Rare/Unique Physique

Donghua (animated series), the Heaven-Splitting Beast Physique (or Kaitian Beast Physique) is the “Rumored” name of the unique physical constitution of Wen Tianren. This physique is the primary reason Archsaint Six Paths spared Wen Tianren’s life and took him as a “descendant” after slaughtering his clan.

Key Attributes

  • Rapid Cultivation: It allows Wen Tianren to progress at an incredible speed, reaching the pinnacle of the Core Formation stage in roughly 100 years without the aid of major “cheats” like Han Li’s green bottle.
  • Devil Dao Compatibility: The physique is exceptionally suited for high-level Devil Dao arts, specifically the Six Apex Devils Art, allowing the user to handle the intense baleful energy that would destroy a normal cultivator’s meridians.
  • Enhanced Spiritual Sense: Due to this constitution, Wen Tianren’s spiritual sense is naturally at the level of a Nascent Soul cultivator while he is still only at the Core Formation stage.
  • The Archsaint’s Secret Purpose: The Archsaint views this physique as a “vessel.” He likely intended to use Wen Tianren as a cultivation furnace or a target for possession (Possession/Soul Transfer) once Wen reached the Nascent Soul stage, which is why Wen Tianren secretly feared breaking through.

In the original novel, Wen Tianren is simply a high-aptitude genius; the specific “Heaven-Splitting Beast” backstory and naming are enhancements added by the donghua to deepen his rivalry with Han Li and highlight the Archsaint’s cruelty.

Powers[Techniques and Treasures]

Wen Tianren was at Peak Core Formation stage. Han Li and the likes of Immortal Xu from the Endless Sky Temple(Soaring Tribes) and Ling Xiaofeng[Star Palace] were hailed as a genius for reaching the advance nascent soul stages before or around the age of 400+. Wen Tianrian had an amazing aptitude and with the many pair cultivation method his master created, notable(The Dragon Guiding Art) his cultivation quickly progressed. Young Master Wen facial appearance were in the late twenties(26-29yrs old) at the peak- core-formation realm(Keep in mind the higher one cultivation advances early on, the younger their physical appearance remained, this reflects the speed of their cultivation. Wen Tianrian with his gifted aptitude for cultivation combined with the heavenly dual cultivation method the Dragon Guiding Art and his Unique Physique quickly got to the late stages of the core formation and had he not perish it was speculated that he become would’ve became the youngest and fastest to ever reach the early nascent soul stage in the inner chaos seas or possible the lower realm as a whole in the current Era, after all he made it to the Peak core formation in a mare century(100 years). Wen Tianren also had the Copulative Essence Arts used to advance through a bottleneck at the nascent soul stage, the way Han Li spoke on Wen Tianran cultivation speed in chapter 645, it was insinuated to be the fastest he’s ever seen or heard about.

During seclusion young master wen broke through to the peak stages just before or during the Heaven Void Hall opening per the conversation between Enforcer Cang Yunlong and Doaist Liu after their interaction with Han Li, they also mention he would enter the nascent soul under a hundred years. Over the next 30years prior to fighting Han Li he seems to have also Long stabilized his cultivation per the fact he was having a casual stroll across the inner seas with his concubines search for something per his mater request.

Wen Tianren practice many pair cultivation techniques for cultivation speed created by his master, most noticeable the Dragon Guiding Arts for the Core Formation stage and later had he not died the Copulative Essence Arts for the Nascent Soul stage.

  • Dragon Guiding Arts- Explained by Han Li, its particularly suitable for Core Formation males allowing a Core Formation cultivator to unceasingly draw on the vital Yin essence of a woman with a special constitution, greatly raising their cultivation. “However, this secret technique was certain to cause great harm to the woman’s origin Qi. As such, any male cultivators using this technique would best have many concubines. Considering the many Foundation Establishment women at Archsaint Six Paths’ disciple’s side, he should’ve cultivated this technique. Otherwise, there would be no way he could’ve cultivated to late Core Formation stage at his young age, no matter how amazing his aptitude. After all, he didn’t have a miraculous bottle that could age plants

  • Copulative Essence Art - the Copulative Essence Arts, its a secret pair cultivation technique that is specialized for Nascent Soul men. Unlike the Dragon Guiding Arts, it requires a woman to possess cultivation at Core Formation stage. Once a woman cultivates this technique to a deep enough stage, the male cultivator would be able to forcefully break through a cultivation bottleneck in an instant by seizing her vital Yin, It is only natural that he would want his concubines to cultivate with all their might. This technique requires a woman possessing deep cultivation after all, the woman would also benefit from the dual cultivation as well but not to the same level as the male.

  • Spiritual sense -Cultivators that are naturally born with or cultivated a powerful spiritual sense art is rare in the mortal realm and those who accomplish this goal are very prideful such case with young master wen who’s spiritual sense was comparable to an early nascent soul.

  • Six Apex Devils Art summons six huge malevolent phantoms with horns on each of their heads, tusks emerging from their mouths and scales covering their bodies. They can spit grey devilfire.

  • Cataclysmic Graft is a legendary Devil Dao technique. It allows to use a limb, that had been refined in advance, as a substitute to block an attack from reaching their body. Apparently, this technique could only be refined by Nascent Soul cultivators.

  • Divine Golden Flames Although they weren’t as powerful as the Celestial Ice Flames, let alone the Sacred Asura Flames, they were still on the same level as Zenith Yin’s corpsefire.

  • Golden Mirrors of Eight Gates(Replica Novel/Manhua)- An ancient palm-sized octagonal mirrors that appeared to be made of pure gold. They can reflect off light beam, each time making it thicker.

  • Blue streak Awl-Surrounded by winding talisman, a small weapon engulf in a streak of blue light, wen Tianren spat it out his mouth during his first attack against Han Li.[Use in Novel/Manga Only]

  • Artifact: Profound Ice Lance- Appeared only in the donghua] it seems to be a powerful ice art or treasure that can manipulate ice. He uses this for his first attack which is inconsistent with the Blue Streak AWL noted above which he uses in the Manhua and Novel[Use in Donghua Only]

  • Artifact: Purple Cloud Banner-Up on activating a cloud of purple/violet mist surround and hides Wen Tianren allowing all attack to go through the clouds as though nothing were there, leaving him unharmed(the cloud possessed a miraculous effect of shifting one’s position an evasion technique with great efficacy)The effect stays active until dispelled by owner or enemies. He can also uses other treasures and powers inside the clouds to attack. In the Donghua he uses some snake type beast similar to Zenith Yin pet beast to attack inside the purple cloud.

  • Ancient Copper Shield- A powerful shield used to block physical and magical attacks.

  • Artifact: Heavenly Sun Golden Needles/Sword/Spear- The needles are one of the most difficult item to master! yet he masters it at a young age. Thin Flying golden needles that were only about an inch long with several hundred of them no less and had a golden luster with thread attached, holding fearsome power. The needles can condense into different weapon shapes, as it did turn into a Golden sword in an instant and a Spear during his final showdown with Han Li. Wen Tianren use the needles to almost decimate all of Han Li powerful Gold Devouring Beetles

  • Silver Bell- Large ancient silver bell Wen Tianren used attack Han Li. It uses sound waves that disrupt one entire body/mind/spirit. It was later acquired by Han Li and used by him many times in the Heavenly South while fighting notable opponents such as Sage Le and others.

  • Dark green plate of inner armor - An incredible strong inner armor used to block a close range direct attack to the chest from a dagger by Han Li in the Umbra Realm. It was later acquired and used many times by Han Li.

  • Four Celestial Coiled Dragon Belt -It is embedded with four miraculous gems that are capable of resisting Wind, Fire, Water and Earth. Additionally, it is capable of keeping one’s mind calm. It truly is a rare treasure. Wen Tianrian had relied much on this belt to journey in the Umbra Realm land without obstruction

  • Crimson flame[Evasion Speed Art ] - Used by Wen Tianren to escape an attack from Han Li during their battle. When used it allows the user to leapt away in a flash of red light, disappearing and reappearing over a Hundred meters away in moments. The user two legs would be ablaze with a crimson flame and Glimmers of azure light could be spotted from within the the flames. [Novel & Manhua only]

  • Instant teleportation [Evasion  Art ] -Within the Donghua instead of using the Crimson flame speed art he uses instant teleportation which allows him to teleport another object in his place to take an attack.

Trivia

**1)**In the donghua it was stated and Implied that Wen Qing of the heavenly star sages and Archsaint Six Paths were siblings, whether by blood or adapted wasn’t stated. in Season 3 Episode 12 [88] while Han Li and Jin Qing spoke about the Heaven Void Hall he mention that the two sages and archsaint were close and wen Qing being his sister. Her, herself referred to six path as her older brother while speaking to Jin Kui in Episode 75. Keep in mind that in the cultivation world calling someone Senior/Junior Brother vs Older/Younger Brother both have different meaning.

Another hint is their family name, though archsaint didn’t use his actual name, Wen Tianren his disciple and sole descendant had the same family name Last but not least in the Donghua when Zhao Zheng went to report to the Grand Elder Jin Kui in Episode 74/75 about the attack on Prime Island via Wu Chou/Zenith Yin, Jin Kui exact words were the Wen’s[Archsaint Six Paths] or the Wan’s[Wan Sangu] could have given the order.

Both in the novel and donghua she had great hatred toward archsaint for putting her life in danger in the past but her husband back then saved her, she never gave up her hatred towards him with the hope of someday taking revenge by unnaliving her brother.

Wen Tianren and Ling Yuling base on the info given in the Donghua are not blood relatives.

2) Enforcer Cang Yunlong and Doaist Liu in chap 502/3 after their interaction with Han Li was shock at how strong and dense his baleful Qi were, something that can only be obtain by killing a lot, they thought he killed many cultivators but not realizing is was due to the many beast he hunted and killed for their core. They would mention that if Wen tianren and Archsaint Six Paths were to acquire such dense devilish Qi their cultivation would skyrocket to new heights because of the cultivation art they practices, this thought correspond with the conversation between wen tianren and his master in the donghua Ep 135 about finding a certain place which is one of three phenomenon that occurs in the Scattered Star Seas, the ghost fog aka Umbra Realm or netherworld as some calls it. They must have deduce that the thick Yin Qi would be extremely beneficial to their cultivation art the Six Apex Devils Art, afterall wen tianren said he had spend massive amount of resource tracking the opening of the ghost fog for many years.
