FORCETOC

Arranged Marriage

After relocating Masked Moon Sect from the State of Yue to the State of Beiliang, Nangong Que had formally applied to join Nine Nations Alliance several times but to no avail. Later, Wei Wuya offered to help her with joining the Alliance on the condition that her sect agreed to arrange the marriage between her Junior Sister, Nangong Wan, and his nephew, Wei Lichen. Not only that, he would also allow the remnants of Seven Sects of the State of Yue to expand out of the State of Beiliang, and Wei Lichen would also leave his sect and join Masked Moon Sect as a Guest Elder.[713]

Tempted by the offer, Nangong Que tried to persuade Nangong Wan at first, but she refused. As a result, she went as far as putting several restrictions including Heart Restraint Technique on Nangong Wan when she was at her weakest period in her cultivation art. It was shown that Nangong Que felt conflicted about forcing Nangong Wan to marry Wei Lichen, but she still decided to prioritize her late Master’s will, for her to take care of the sect, and go through with the arranged marriage plan in the end.

One day, Nangong Que received a message talisman asking her to meet Nangong Wan. After arriving at Nangong Wan’s place, she was ambushed by Nangong Wan and Han Li. Then, she fought both of them simultaneously without holding back. When she was cornered, she used Blood Devil Sword. Realizing she was still no match for them, she tried running away, only to be captured and restrained by Yin Yue and Han Li. Before she lost her consciousness, she asserted that from then on Masked Moon Sect would have nothing to do with Nangong Wan anymore. After that, it was revealed that there’s a possibility that the sword influenced Nangong Que and distorted her personality, changing her from someone who’s close to Nangong Wan to someone who treated her as nothing more than a bargaining chip.
