Han Li: Comprehensive Life History

Book 1: The Seven Mysteries Sect

Han Li was born into the impoverished Han family in Green Ox Town. From a young age, he was keenly aware of the hardships his family faced: meager crops, the constant worry of affording daily necessities, and the threat of local bandits or opportunistic rivals. His parents worked tirelessly to sustain the household, but Han Li’s intelligence and natural talent were evident early on, and he felt a deep responsibility to help elevate his family’s status. This sense of duty became a driving force behind many of his decisions, motivating him to seek the path of cultivation not merely for personal glory, but to ensure his family would no longer suffer poverty.

Despite the harshness of his early life, Han Li displayed a curiosity for martial arts and alchemy, practicing with rudimentary weapons and experimenting with herbs found in the nearby hills. Even before formally entering a sect, he was resourceful and observant, often analyzing the movements of local bullies or wild animals to refine his reflexes and strategic thinking. These small lessons of survival would later become crucial in his cultivation journey.

His opportunity arose when he caught the attention of recruiters from the Seven Mysteries Sect, previously known as the Seven Supreme Sect. Though the sect was known for its strict training and rigid hierarchy, Han Li saw it as a chance to develop his potential and acquire the skills necessary to improve his family’s situation. His initial days in the sect were difficult; he struggled to keep pace with other disciples who had been training since childhood. Nevertheless, his sharp mind and adaptability allowed him to quickly learn the basics of martial cultivation, defensive techniques, and meditation practices.

It was during this time that Han Li forged his first meaningful bonds within the sect. One such companion was Zhang Tie, a loyal and earnest disciple whose strength lay in unwavering support and tactical thinking rather than raw power. The two developed a brotherly relationship, often practicing together, sharing meals, and discussing their dreams of rising in the sect and improving their lives. Another ally was Li Feiyu, a more mischievous but clever individual whose humor and resourcefulness helped balance Han Li’s seriousness and caution. Together, the trio navigated the competitive and often perilous environment of the sect, forming a small circle of trust in a world where betrayal was common.

Han Li’s time in the Seven Mysteries Sect was marked by rigorous training and early exposure to the politics of cultivation. He learned the importance of alliances, observing which senior disciples and masters held real influence versus those who relied solely on brute strength. He also began to understand that power alone was not sufficient to protect himself or his family—wisdom, strategy, and foresight were equally essential.

The defining moment of his brief tenure came during a skirmish with a rival faction known as the Feral Wolf Gang. Han Li, though still young and inexperienced, showcased his growing skill and cunning, helping to repel the attack and prevent greater casualties within the sect. This experience, however, also revealed the limits of the sect’s ability to safeguard him. At the same time, he became aware of a secret poison administered by Mo Juren, a master he had briefly trusted, intended to test and manipulate him. Realizing that the sect could neither protect him from external threats nor provide the knowledge needed to cure the poison, Han Li made the pivotal decision to leave the Seven Mysteries Sect and pursue his own path.

Before departing, Han Li ensured that Zhang Tie and Li Feiyu were aware of his intentions and secured their loyalty and support, recognizing that trustworthy allies would be vital in the uncertain journey ahead. He left the sect quietly, carrying with him not only the foundational skills he had learned but also the determination to rise above his humble origins, safeguard his family, and face the larger, more dangerous world of Jianghu and cultivation.

This period, though brief in comparison to his entire journey, laid the foundation for Han Li’s character: a blend of intelligence, strategic foresight, moral responsibility, and the willingness to take risks to protect those he cared about. His time in the Seven Mysteries Sect was both a crucible and a stepping stone, preparing him for the challenges that awaited in the quest for immortality and power.

Book 2: First Step on the Journey of Immortality

Han Li traveled to Lan Province in the State of Yue to seek the antidote for Mo Juren’s poison. At Jia Yuan City, he encountered Mo Juren’s family. While assisting them in reclaiming their power in the mortal world, he received training from Mo Juren himself, who claimed he would teach Han the art of herbalism and healing. Han Li became an adept herbalist, learning to concoct poisons and antidotes, although he later discovered Mo Juren’s intent to betray him and take over his body. This revelation caused Han Li to be cautious of future teachers and manipulators.

Zhang Tie accompanied Han Li, and during this period Han Li imbued him with a new personality to prevent him from being manipulated by enemies. They traveled together, with Zhang Tie providing critical support, though later Han Li had to give Zhang’s body to Mo’s family to avoid political entanglements, only for the body to be lost when a wandering soul took over it. Han Li eventually recovered Zhang, continuing their journey together.

At Yellow Maple Valley, Han Li participated in the Trial by Blood and Fire. During these events, he rescued Chen from an attempted sexual assault by a demonic cultivator, earning her gratitude and later romantic confession. Han Li left her behind to continue his cultivation journey, later learning of her death—a source of enduring regret.

Han Li also began his fateful interactions with Nangong Wan, encountering her when he killed a beast with potent pheromones. This led to their first sexual encounter, cementing a complex romantic relationship that would unfold over the coming books.

Finally, he revisited his family clan, the Han Clan, after achieving Nascent Soul, leaving guidance for descendants and witnessing the consequences of leaving them behind. He learned of Chen’s death and contemplated how his absence and choices had affected future generations.

Book 3: Invasion of the Devil Dao

Han Li entered the Foundation Establishment stage and built his first cave abode. He began training in the Azure Essence Sword Art and refined his cultivation techniques. When the Devil Dao invaded the State of Yue, he fought decisively, killing numerous invaders and gaining renown among the Seven Sects of Yue.

During this period, he was forced into a decoy role by his sect to allow higher-level cultivators to escape. Despite this, Han Li remained proactive, forming alliances with figures like Zi Ling of the Exquisite Sound Sect, helping her protect her sect and guiding her decisions. He also navigated dangerous political intrigue among sects, solidifying his reputation as a strategist and tactician.

Zhang Tie continued to assist Han Li in battles and reconnaissance missions, acting as both a companion and a failsafe should Han Li face unexpected peril. Their bond strengthened, showcasing Han Li’s ability to maintain loyalty and mentorship even under extreme danger.

Book 4: Across the Scattered Star Seas

Han Li was transported to the Scattered Star Seas, where he honed his combat skills against demonic beasts, rival cultivators, and environmental hazards. During this time, he reached Core Formation stage and became a Guest Elder of the Exquisite Sound Sect under Fairy Violet Spirit. He nurtured the Heavenly Lightning Bamboo into a ten-thousand-year-old divine wood and forged his signature Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords.

He encountered Wen Siyue, guiding and protecting her during her own cultivation journey. In the Heavenvoid Hall, Han Li collected rare treasures, including the Heavenvoid Cauldron and Jade Scepter, while navigating schemes of Nascent Soul eccentrics. He allied with Yuan Yao to secure the Soul Nurturing Wood, showcasing his combination of strategy, diplomacy, and martial skill.

During this time, he dealt with Feng Xi, who coerced him to cultivate to Late Core Formation in six months using Jadefire Wine. Han Li outwitted him, stealing the Thunderstorm Wings and defeating a grade 8 demon beast while escaping a relentless grade 9 pursuer. He survived the Umbra Realm and returned to the Heavenly South Continent.

Zhang Tie continued to accompany him, assisting in battles and acting as a tactical partner, though later Han Li temporarily lost him to the Bone Sage, demonstrating the perilous nature of life among Nascent Soul and Core Formation cultivators.

Han Li also revisited the Han Clan, observing the descendants’ growth and learning about Chen’s death, deepening his understanding of responsibility and consequence.

Book 5: Reputation Shaking the Land

Han Li joined the Drifting Cloud Sect at Sky Spring Peak to cultivate Nascent Soul. He trained with other Nascent Soul cultivators, completing perilous expeditions and acquiring powerful techniques.

Han Li encountered Nangong Wan again and, following the killing of a pheromone beast, consummated their relationship. She later faked being a cousin to manipulate him and attempted to absorb his powers, testing his cunning. During this period, Wang Chang pursued Han Li multiple times, attempting to kill him for past grievances, but Han Li’s strategy and combat skill allowed him to survive and escape.

Zhang Tie remained at his side, assisting in missions and navigating complex political entanglements. This book highlighted Han Li’s combination of personal ambition, romantic entanglement, and strategic acumen.

Book 6: Divine Spirit Treasures and Devilfall Valley

Han Li traveled with allies to Devilfall Valley for cultivation and treasure acquisition. They encountered the Elder Devil, resulting in deadly conflict and strategic maneuvers that solidified Han Li’s reputation among Nascent Soul cultivators.

He acquired Brightjade Arts and Heavenly Corpse Pearl, refining his techniques and overcoming adversaries who sought to control or eliminate him. Zhang Tie continued to support him but faced challenges as forces from the Bone Sage and other Nascent Soul cultivators attempted to manipulate or capture him.

Book 7: Dominating the Mortal Realm

Han Li achieved Late Nascent Soul stage and returned to the Heavenly South Region. He married Nangong Wan, solidifying their long and complex relationship. Zhang Tie was restored as an ally after previous incidents, though the Bone Sage continued to exert influence.

Han Li engaged in the Scattered Star Seas war on the Star Palace side, gaining renown and solidifying his position as one of the region’s top cultivators. He revisited the Han Clan again, reflecting on past choices, losses, and his family’s evolution.

Romantic, political, and martial accomplishments intersected, demonstrating the culmination of his strategy, skill, and personal growth.

Book 8: First Foray into the Spirit Realm

Han Li ascended to the Spirit Realm but was injured and separated from Ice Phoenix Feng, losing control over divine sense and spirit beasts. He recovered over three months, hiding his treasures and focusing on cultivating in Deep Heaven City.

He honed 12 Awakening Transformations and Lightningwield Technique while navigating new inter-realm threats, preparing for complex spatial-tempering challenges. Zhang Tie assisted whenever possible, though limitations of the realm strained their bond.

Book 9: Races of the Spirit Realm

Han Li explored Blood Sky Continent and Thunder Continent, interacting with beast races such as Tian Kun Peng and Jiao Chi. He obtained Vast Glacial Badge and accessed the Vast Glacial Realm, refining treasures and cultivating the Divine Essence fused Mountain.

Encounters with secret palaces, spatial restrictions, and rival cultivators allowed him to master advanced techniques, laying the foundation for Late Spatial Tempering and inter-realm influence.

Book 10: Battle of the Devil Realm

Han Li defended humanity against Elder Devil Invasion, attaining peak Body Integration stage. Using Gold Devouring Beetles and formations, he defeated Grand Ascension Elder Devil clones.

He consumed Spiritvoid Pill and Clean Spirit Lotus, survived Spirit Cleansing Pond, and defeated Xue Guang alongside Daoist Xie. He gained renown, collected resources, and established Azure Origin Palace to aid allies’ cultivation.

Book 11: The True Immortal Descends

Han Li ascended to Grand Ascension, mastering Divine Devilbane Lightning. He returned to Deep Heaven City, resolved conflicts with Ma Liang and Time Dao Ancestor, and revisited the Han Clan to observe his descendants.

Zhang Tie, having journeyed through many hardships, either remained under Han Li’s guidance or was lost temporarily to external forces, highlighting the dangers of cultivation at this level.

Han Li ultimately ascended to the True Immortal Realm, securing the futures of Nangong Wan, Yuan Yao, Silvermoon, and Daoist Xie. He settled with Nangong Wan and allies, leaving the world better prepared for future generations.
