The Thunder Roc/Demon Beast was the former demonic beast king that was banished and killed by the Two Sages. In actuality, it was merely sealed and suppressed underneath the Demon Banishing Colosseum, where the beast’s power was extracted to fuel the formation.
When Wu Chou staged a coup of the colosseum, Feng Xi released the Thunder Roc, so that it could destroy the great formation of Stalwart Star Island and wreak havoc upon the city. Wu Chou and Elder Gu almost got injured in the ensuing chaos. When even Elder Liu was entering the fray, they fled to let him deal with the aftermath.
