Shi Kun is a 9th-Tier Upper-Race (Spatial Tempering) stage Stone-Cocoon residing on the Thunder Continent within the Spirit Realm. He possesses an Essencefused Body, which allows him to manipulate the power of the Divine Essencefused Light. As a result, he was selected as the personal disciple of an elder of the Heavenly Cloud Races who groomed him to obtain Spiritvoid Pills from the Vast Glacial Realm.

First Meeting

In order for Shi Kun to obtain the pills, he needed to cooperate with two other cultivators who had the ability to manipulate the Divine Essencefused Light. Together, the three would possess the pre-requisite power to enter an abandoned abode housing the pills.

Shi Kun’s master arranged for him to be assigned to the group that Han Li was leading into the realm. Prior to entering the realm, Shi Kun obtained a treasure graciously given to all those entering the realm. Upon entering the realm, he teamed up with Han Li and Liu Shui and left together with them to obtain the pills.

Shi Kun’s group had entered the realm in the Eight Omens Sea which was far away from the location of the pills. Before traveling across the perilous realm, he cultivated a powerful combination technique that drew upon the Divine Essencefused Light. When this technique was used together with Han Li and Liu Shui, the group could unleash a combined technique deadly to even Body Integration-stage beings.

Traveling through the realm

Shi Kun traveled together with Han Li and Liu Shui across the realm. Prior to leaving the Eight Omens Sea, Shi Kun encountered a near death experience with an ancient Sea Guardian Ape. He was rescued by Han Li whose Spiritual Sense allowed Han Li to overcome paralysis caused by the roar of the Ape. Upon leaving the sea, the group decided to travel through the Dark Beast Forest to reach their desired destination. While the forest had the least number of dangers, Shi Kun still needed to disguise himself as a Dark Beast. To improve the groups chance for success, he was lent a special treasures from Liu Shui that helped improve his disguise.

In order to use the treasures, Shi Kun and his peers needed to obtain hides from Dark Beasts. He the first to slaughter a Dark Beast for their hide. He observed Liu Shui obtain a hide. He was impressed and praised her abilities. However, he was stunned when he witnessed Han Li use the Spring Dawn Sword Formation to slaughter a Dark Beast to obtain a hide. Shi Kun became wary of Han Li’s abilities. Shi Kun did not possess the ability to sense what Han Li was doing within the barrier. Lack of sound and fluctuations told Shi Kun that Han Li could effortlessly kill beings below the Holy Race (Body Integration) stage.

Under disguise, Shi Kun traveled with his companions through the Dark Beast Forest. Unfortunately, he was unlucky and accidentally involved themselves in a conflict between two Dark Beast Monarchs (Body Integration stage Dark Beasts). Unable to face a Body Integration stage beast, he and his companions fled the area. They were chased by Silver-Eyed (Spatial Tempering stage) Dark Beasts. As a result, he became embroiled in a life-death struggle with two of these Silver-Eyed Dark Beasts. He was saved when Han Li intervened and effortlessly slaughtered the two beasts. Shi Kun then went to go save Liu Shui who was overwhelmed by the combined might of the four beasts. The Dark Beasts morphed together to obtain power that rivaled that of a Dark Beast Monarch. Faced with overwhelming power, Shi Kun used the combination technique they cultivated when they first entered the Vast Glacial Realm.

Unfortunately, the combined technique was overwhelmed by the combined might of the four beasts. Shi Kun prepared life-saving defensive treasures in preparation to defend against further attacks. However, in a brief moment Han Li took action, slaying the beasts using the broken blade fragment that belonged to a Profound Heavenly Artifact. Shi Kun was surprised. He had sensed that immense amounts of World Origin Energy were gathered before an attack was released. He was surprised that Han Li had possessed the ability to manipulate World Origin Energy on par with Holy Race stage beings. As a result, Shi Kun submitted to Han Li, treating Han Li as the unconditional leader of their group.

Shi Kun and hisgroup managed to leave the forest. Along the way they were pursued by many Silver-Eyed Dark Beasts. In order to escape, they split up and planned to reconvene outside of the forest. He successfully escaped the forest and met up with Liu Shui. Before the two could meet up with Han Li, Shi Kun encountered two members of the Sea Monarch Race who were also visitors from the Spirit Realm. The Sea Monarch Race was allied with the Jiao Chi, and as a result he was forced into a tense-standoff. Luckily, Han Li arrived before the situation escalated. Han Li’s presence deterred the Sea Monarchs. It turned out that one of the Sea Monarchs sensed that Han Li possessed Profound Heavenly Artifacts and did not want to engage in a life-threatening battle.

Immortal Abode

Together with Han Li and Liu Shui, Shi Kun successfully traversed through the dangers of the Vast Glacial Realm and arrived at a hidden Immortal Abode that contained the pills that he was tasked with obtaining. The group worked together using their Divine Essencefused Light to breach a fierce restriction formed by High Zenith Azure Light. It turned out that the Azure Light was generated by a High Zenith Azure Mountain treasure that Han Li obtained once the restriction was broken. Once inside the restriction, the group needed to climb up stairs to reach the abode and subsequent treasures. Unfortunately the stairs had a restriction that increased gravity for each step taken.

Shi Kun was physically the strong, which enabled him to quickly climb the bottom steps. However, he slowed down the further up he travelled. He was surprised when he was overtaken by Han Li who quickly traversed the steps. Shi Kun was fiercely competitive because he had made an earlier agreement that treasures were first-come first-serve. By the time hehad arrived, Han Li had already taken many treasures and plants from a medicinal garden. Nevertheless, Shi Kun scavenged what remained. Along with the others, he managed to find the room that housed the Spiritvoid Pills that his master was looking for. A fight nearly broke out between himself and Liu Shui as both had been instructed to obtain the pills at all cost. Thankfully, Han Li mediated and both were able to receive a pill.

After receiving a pill, Shi Kun decided to explore the abode on his own to hunt for treasures and resources. A few days later, the abode began to collapse. The collapse was remotely triggered by the owner of the abode who was enraged that Han Li triggered and destroyed a valuable treasure within the abode. Together, the group successfully escaped prior to the collapse of the abode. The collapse alerted a nearby group of Jiao Chi beings. Shi Kun was forced to split ways with Han Li and Liu Shui to flee the area. Shi Kun was pursued by Jiao Chi beings.

Jiao Chi Invasion

Years later, the Vast Glacial realm closed forcibly expelling visitors from the Spirit Realm. As a visitor, Shi Kun was forcibly expelled from the realm and teleported back to the Cloud City where she had originally entered. Upon return, he was reunited with Han Li and Liu Shui. However, Shi Kun returned to turmoil. The Jiao Chi launched an offensive on the Heavenly Cloud Races. The Jiao Chi lured the Heavenly Cloud Races to into a trap which left the Cloud City with limited defenses. As a result, a massive assault was launched on the city. In order to delay loss of the city, Holy Race staged seniors were reassigned outside of the city. This tricked the Jiao Chi into holding back their Holy-Race stage beings from participating in the fight.

Shi Kun teamed up other returnees from the Vast Glacial Realm. Two returnees managed to ascend to the Holy Race (Body Integration) stage. This tag team effortlessly brushed aside Jiao Chi forces that attempted to block the group. She and others met the Grand Ascension stage grand elder overseeing the battle with the Jiao Chi. He learned of the dire situation and he was forcibly evacuated along with all the other returnees. He met his master handing over the Spiritvoid Pill and informing his master about Han Li’s incredibly abilities and the medicinal resources harvested from the immortal abode.
