The universe is divided into multiple planes of existence with realms occupying each plane. Abstractly, Planes are stacked on top of each other. Planes have different concentrations of energy. A plane may consist of one or more realms. Realms may have different types of energy. Cultivators progressing on their Dao paths will eventually need to ascend to higher heavenly planes, or descend to lower devil infested planes.

Realms
Individual realms and worlds are protected by spatial (dimensional) boundaries that separates reach realm and world from each other. These boundaries protect realms and worlds from spatial storms that rages in the void between realms. Boundaries can be broken to form Spatial Tears. Forcefully breaking through a boundary requires immense amounts of energy. The boundaries are not uniform. Some parts of a realm’s boundaries are weaker due to lower concentrations of World Origin Energy. As a result spatial tears form naturally.
SPATIAL NODES
Realms are weakly connected by naturally forming spatial nodes. These nodes are usually formed between spatial tears of two realms. However, spatial nodes offer no protection from the celestial winds and spatial storms. Cultivators must be at the Late-Deity Transformation stage to safely travel through spatial nodes.
