Full frame ↗Marquis Nanlong is a mid Nascent Soul stage eccentric. Marquis Nanlong was a descendant of Master Cang Kun.[704]
Marquis Nanlong travelled in magnificent carriage pulled by Qilin and a fire phoenix and being escorted by Foundation Establishment golden armored cultivators armed with halberds and palace maids carrying cauldrons.[674]
History
Marquis Nanlong was stealthily forming friendships with the elders of the Righteous Dao Alliance’s Heavenpeak Sect and grew interested in joining their sect. He wanted their support to enter Devilfall Valley.[704]
Cang Kun’s Treasures
When Marquis Nanlong noticed Han Li near Soaring Heavens City, he challenged him to spiritual sense contest as a test.[675] When he established Han Li’s spiritual sense was powerful and even on par with his, he invited him to a gathering of cultivators.[676]
Marquis Nanlong led the meeting with his friend, mid Nascent Soul cultivator Yun, Han Li, Wang Tiangu, Wang Chan, Yan Ruyan and 3 other early Nascent Soul cultivators : Daoist You, Madam Tai and Daoist Bing[686]. He briefed everyone on the matter, revealing it was about Master Cang Kun’s hidden treasures.[687]
In the Moulan Plains, Marquis Nanlong’s group met Moulan spell warriors from Heavenly Wind Tribe. After loosing pursuers, they arrived at Cang Kun’s cave residence.[696] There Han Li broke the ancient restriction.[699] While splitting the treasures, everyone else turned against Marquis Nanlong and Han Li, even his friend Yun.[701] Yun was actually an elder of the Ghost Spirit Sect. After he discovered Marquis Nanlong was colluding with Righteous Dao sect, he had to regretfully deal with him to not let the Righteous Dao grow in power. After killing one early Nascent Soul cultivator (Daoist You) and seriously wounding Wang Chan who both tried to pin him down, Han Li and Marquis Nanlong escaped with few treasures.[704]
Months later, with the help of Heavenpeak Sect Elder Lu Weiying, an injured Marquis Nanlong organized a meeting with Han Li. He told him about the Ghost Spirit Sect’s plan to enter Devilfall Valley and the purpose of the Heaven-Earth Rings.[726] Marquis Nanlong wanted him to go with them to Devilfall Valley for treasures in about 4 years.[727]
Devilfall Valley
Marquis Nanlong and Lu Weiying were residing near the Myriad Link Mountains. After finding Bai Shujun in Birch Leaf City, Han Li used him to find Lu Weiying.[803] All 3 of them discussed the arrangements and details of entering Devilfall Valley. Marquis Nanlong admitted that he leaked the rumors that the Ghost Spirit Sect had a method to enter Devilfall Valley, after what happened at Cang Kun’s cave.[804] After some time inside Devilfall Valley, Lu Weiying and Marquis Nanlong met Han Li.[810] At the place from Master Cang Kun’s records, they encountered an ancient python.[811] After a bit of effort, the three of them slew this python called Three-headed Ebony Snake.[813] Next, with Han Li’s Yin Yang Ring, they passed through dangerous Greatnorth Essence Lights.[815] Days later, they arrived at the Ancient Flame Toad’s nest in a cave with lava.[818] Once they lured it outside, the demon beast was killed after a flurry of attacks.[820] They found items on the ancient cultivator remains. Han Li got a small purple mirror, a refinement method for the Sevenflame Fan and spirit ores.[822] Marquis Nanlong and Lu Weiying took medicinal pills and an ancient treasure each.
Once Han Li departed, they set off towards the Blood Curse Gate and the treasures hidden behind it, following Master Cang Kun’s records.[823] After destroying the gate, they found great treasures within, which were unfortunately sealed by the legendary Minor Sanctuary Guardian Formation.[826] Only after a great struggle were they able to break the formation.[831] Lu Weiying got three magic tools and the many jade talismans and Marquis Nanlong collected the alms bowl. Dividing the spoils created tension between the two. When they were taking plants, they vanished. The Elder Devil Bloodflame escaped from the alms bowl and possessed Marquis Nanlong.[832]
