Li Yuanjiu was Master of the Nine Origins Temple and one of the Seven Lords of the Heavenly Dao in the Heavenly Court. He was one of the strongest people in the whole True Immortal Realm.
Appearance
He was an skinny old man who wasn’t very tall. He was no longer wearing his usual rough hemp robes and instead wore a purple-gold Daoist robe with striking colors. All of the wiring on the robe shone with a peculiar luster and one could tell at a glance that it was a robe of the Immortal Artifact level. His shoulders were still slightly hunched, but his eyes were bright and piercing.
Plot
During one of his spiritual transmigration he took over the body of a dead person in Mulan Mountain Range, which is situated on the Bramble Wood Continent of the Golden Origin Immortal Region. This dead person possessed late-stage Foundation Establishment when he was alive and his name is Ling Yunzi. He was taken care by his only disciple named Li Yuanjiu, who thought that his master was lucky enough and managed to recover from a grievous wound when Han Li possessed his body. Since he saw Li Yuanjiu’s filial piety to his master and Han Li found out that Li Yuanjiu possessed a false spiritual root just like himself, one that possessed four out of five attributes, with only the metal attribute missing. This is the obvious reason why the boy’s cultivation progress was so slow leaving him at the peak of Qi Condensation. However, just like Han Li, he has quite formidable spiritual sense for his cultivation level, which makes Han Li think whether this meeting is a pre-ordained fate or just a coincidence. Making up his mind, Han Li knocked him out after lecturing him about having strength in the cruel cultivation world and give him the Great Development Technique. Since the boy is so similar to him, Han Li decided to give an extra help by sending another streak of spiritual light that split into two while entering Li Yuanjiu’s body. First streak turned into countless tiny runes that depicted another cultivation art, namely Heavenbearing Devil Arts. By giving this cultivation art to the boy, he fulfilled his promise with Man Huzi. The other streak of spiritual light shrank into a speck, hiding in Li Yuanjiu’s corner of mind. It held a cultivation art tied to the Provenance True Devil Arts and Heavenbearing Devil Arts, which will be unsealed only when the boy reached the Deity Transformation Stage. Moreover, Han Li did them a favor by using Ling Yunzi’s body to kill his adversary.
Turns out, years later when Han Li tried to steal back Jin Tong from Nine Origins Temple, he encountered Li Yuanjiu who happened to be the same boy he encountered in his spiritual transmigration. Li Yuanjiu is now an almighty Dao Ancestor and he seemed to see much more regarding fate. Additionally, it seems that Li Yuanjiu has “figured” everything out and decided to let Han Li go in order to sever karmic ties. He is the old man that is very kind and amiable according to Jin Tong and he even invited her to become an official elder in his Nine Origins Temple. While she understood that this old man is immensely kind to her, Jin Tong, however decided to follow Han Li, saying, “I really like you as well, old man, but I already have a master, and I don’t plan to follow anyone but him.” After that, he gifted a pill to Jin Tong and tell them to go and never come back to his temple. It means, he can let them go once, but he can’t let them go twice since he is somewhat tied with Heavenly Court.
However later, when Reincarnation (Samsara) Palace Master revealed his identity as “Han Li”, Li Yuanjiu got confused as to who actually gave him those cultivation arts in the past.
