Hard to Detect
In Extraheavensphere, Han Li and Wang Ning stayed in a massive black ball at the center of a cluster of asteroids. Inside their cave abode, they entered Han Li’s Flower Branch domain and Celestial Time Array. They cultivated for over 200,000 years there. Unfortunately, Han Li failed to make any progress with the severance of his kind corpse soul because he couldn’t detect its presence at all since his heart had grown cold and unfeeling over time as a result of numerous killings. In need of inspiration, Han Li brought Wang Ning on a journey to explore True Immortal Realm. They visited the Northern Light Immortal Region to appreciate its aurora, the Jade Lake Immortal Region to took a boat on its lake surrounded by color-changing mist, and the Fire Bird Mountain Range of the Heavenly Fire Immortal Region to watch its spectacular eruptions. Han Li and Wang Ning also visited the mysterious green mud swamps of the Flowing Wave Immortal Region, the red sun sea of the Vast Sea Immortal Region, the stormy mountain ranges of the Dark Wind Immortal Region, and other wondrous immortal regions. They travelled through 20-30 immortal regions to witness countless spectacular sights over the course of less than 300 years. Considering how massive True Immortal Realm was, they had only managed to explore an extremely small portion of it.
Then, they did all kinds of good deeds to find the true meaning of kindness across the Soaring Wings Immortal Region after Han Li felt some kind intents as a result of sincerely helping a storyteller and his grandaughter in Jade Mountain City. Because of that, he managed to faintly sense his kind corpse soul. After that, he continued his spree of kindness in a barren city in the Crane Ridge Immortal Region for half a month. Even so, the good deeds didn’t help his progress with sensing the kind corpse soul anymore. Feeling stuck, he visited a tea shop where he met the shopkeeper, Li Hai, and wondered how the shopkeeper got so much more kind intent than him from his act of kindness toward a boy. Wang Ning then told him about a passage in Pear Orchard Journal that read “Acts of kindness are inherently good, but the goodness of such acts will be tarnished if one’s motives are impure.” After Han Li achieved enlightenment, over the course of over 140 years, both of them disguised themselves as a young couple of mortals who selflessly opened a clinic and gave free treatments to people until they both grew old together. Furthermore, he also guided Li Hai in his cultivation. As a result, Han Li finally managed to completely sense the kind corpse soul.
Easy to Sever
Next, Han Li and Wang Ning went to a nameless mountain in the Crane Ridge Immortal Region to sever his kind corpse soul. Inside their cave abode, he first set up several layers of restrictions. Then, he entered a special chamber and set up the same array he used for his wicked corpse soul severance. After that, he summoned his 2nd Earthly Deity Avatar body, and put it down on the yin side, while he sat down on the yang side. He then activated the array and entered his own conciousness. His conciousness was peaceful at the time unlike when he severed his previous corpse soul.
There, he met a white-robbed Han Li, who had closed its eyes and sat cross-legged in meditation. Instead of confronting or acting hostile toward Han Li, the kind corpse soul simply welcomed him and invited him to have a discussion about the concepts of good and evil. It is willing to leave his body on its own as long as his answers were satisfactory. Otherwise, it would forcibly take over his conciousness. Han Li tried to provoke it into fighting at first but eventually decided to comply after seeing how unfazed it was. After getting more than satisfactory answers to its questions, the kind corpse soul voluntarily left his body and entered the avatar body.
Subsequently, the kind corpse soul simply stood still after having gained control over its new body. When sensing Han Li’s newly-increased power, it congratulated him despite feeling fearful. Then, they had conversation and thanked each other. At the end of their conversation, the kind corpse soul requested to be freed in return for having made the severance easier for him. It truly wanted no part of his conflict and, instead, wanted to continue his footsteps to pursue the greatest good. Han Li thought for a moment and then happily supported his wish. As a result, it happily gave him a parting salute and set out to do all kinds of good deeds in various places.
