Abilities
It has incredibly sharp scyth-like claws that can easily destroy magic treasures.
Background
The Spirit Controlling Sect’s Insect Fanatic used to own a Golden-Back Demon Mantis. However, after its original body perished, there was the possibility that the mantis would not recognize its master in a new body. Hence, the cultivator left the mantis in his cave.
Later, when cornered by Han Li, in order to verify his claim that the Spirit Beast Mountain was affiliated with the Spirit Controlling Sect and that a betrayal was imminent, he cunningly made Han Li go to his cave to find evidence of his correspondance with the elders of his sect that supported his claim. The true intention behind this was to have Han Li, who was at Foundation Establishment Stage at that time, walk to his death. Although Han Li did not perish, a lot of his magic treasures and tools did much to his dismay. In fact, almost all of his primary arsenal of offensive tools were destroyed by the Mantis.
After fleeing with his life and having exacted his revenge on the Core Formation cultivator, Han Li used a formation to lay a trap for the mantis near the cave. After it entered his formation, Han Li was able to restrain and slay the mantis. Afterwards, he took the lifeless eggs of the mantis.[344]
