The Ghost Mist refers to one of the three great natural disasters of the Scattered Star Seas. It is a terrifying, inescapable phenomenon that appears as a massive bank of gray fog, capable of swallowing even high-level cultivators and transporting them to the Umbra Realm (also known as the Land of Wandering Souls).
Key Characteristics of the Ghost Mist
- The Umbra Realm Trap: Anyone caught in the mist is dragged into a separate dimension where Spiritual Energy is nullified. Cultivators lose access to their magic and flying abilities, forcing them to rely on physical strength or special soul-based techniques to survive.
- Trigger Mechanism: The mist often appears randomly, but it can be triggered by powerful, “heaven-defying” rituals. For example, it was summoned during Yuan Yao’s attempt to use the Soulrise Technique to revive her sister, Yan Li.
- Han Li’s Encounter: The protagonist, Han Li, was caught in the Ghost Mist while protecting Yuan Yao. Inside the Umbra Realm, he managed to use his Weeping Soul Beast to consume the local Umbra Beasts and eventually found a way to escape back to the Mortal Realm.
